Honoring a Master

Joe Servello has been a prolific artist in Altoona for many years. His art and murals can be found in homes and public spaces throughout the region, and the books he illustrated range from children’s stories to adult mysteries and fiction.

When his home was being readied for sale, an unfinished woodcut was discovered. Unable to complete the work himself, Joe entrusted fellow artist Kevin Kutz to finish it.

With the help of woodcarver Tom McCarty, Kevin brought the piece, titled The Philosopher to completion and created prints and t-shirts featuring the image.

A lifelong supporter of ArtsAltoona, Joe suggested that the prints and shirts be sold to raise funds for our programming.

To honor the life and legacy of Joe Servello, we are proud to make them available to you.

Orders for both the shirts and print must be submitted by Monday, October 20.

Please allow for up to three weeks from the order deadline for the shirts and up to five weeks for the prints. You will be notified once your purchase is ready and all items can be picked up at Lightning Bug Gift Co. in Hollidaysburg
